“To listen is to return home.”
 1996–2026 Echoes Along the East centers on the “currents of memory” of students and faculty from National Taitung University, reflecting on three decades of urban landscapes and industrial transformations in Taitung.

Through online and on-site interviews, the project gathers alumni memories of places and local shops, integrating sound collection,Vlog production, and satellite exhibitions across the region to present intertwined narratives of outward migration and return.

By treating sound as a form of documentation and image as a mode of storytelling, the project extends beyond a study of local soundscapes—it becomes a collective act of listening and cultural engagement.
